Get Unstuck or at Least Learn to Flow with It

I was hoping to post this yesterday, but alas, it was not to be. You see, I was having Internet problems. My connection was sooo slow; I’m talking 1997 dial-up slow.

Instead of getting off the computer and going for a walk, I decided to try to power through and get my work done.

What a mistake.

It was a lesson in futility and frustration. But I had a plan and I was going to stick with it, come what may. I mean I only had a few emails to send  so it shouldn’t have taken that long. Right?

Finally, after a few hours, I decided to call my Internet provided to see what was up. I should have called them sooner, but I must have Abandoned Child Karma because asking for help is not one of my strong points.

Anyway, to make a long story short, the phone technician did some remote diagnostics and told me that my signals were messed up (I think that’s the technical term she used) and my bandwidth was only a tiny fraction of what it should be. They’d send out a repairman on Wednesday. So I’d have to live with this excruciatingly slow connection until then.

OK. Cool. Now that I know what it is I can work with that. I’m thinking this is pretty ironic. Here I am trying to send an email about how in the Chinese Five Elements the Water Element is all about flow and my Internet connection is stuck!

Then my Internet goes down altogether. So I call them back, speak to another customer service rep who tells me that there’s an outage in my area; they’re working on it and that’s the best they can do.

OK. Cool. Now that I know what’s going on, I can live with that.

But it got me thinking about overcoming resistance and being in the flow. When you’re stuck what do you do? Sometimes the best approach is to use your will and perseverance to get unstuck. And sometimes you just have to wait it out.

And sometimes it’s a combination of both. It feels like that’s where we’re at right now. I’ve been hearing from lots of different people in lots of different fields who feel that things just aren’t moving right now, and they’re getting antsy.

This is why I’m glad to be doing the Get Unstuck Repatterning remote distance healing proxy group session this week. Whether it’s really time to get moving or whether this cosmic holding pattern is going to continue, I can’t say. But I do know that this Repatterning is going to help me either way. If it’s time to get moving, this Repatterning will give me that burst of momentum I need. If it’s time to wait, this Repatterning will give me the clarity and calm to sit tight.

In the Chinese Five Element System winter is the season of the Water Element. And the Water Element is all about flow – the flow of your power, your energy, your money, and even your progress.

Now what happens to the Water in Winter?

It freezes!

And when your water is frozen you feel stuck, unmotivated and unable to move forward. The emotion associated with the Water Element is fear which feeds the stuckness.

When this happens it’s easy to slide back into old habits. The fear sets in and you feel drained and powerless, lacking in energy and resources to get going again.

The Water Element is also about being able to access your intuition and wisdom. When your water energy is balanced you know when to power through and when to rest in the stillness. And you know how to flow around obstacles so they don’t defeat you.

In my next post we’ll look closer at my little Internet adventure from the perspective of the Water Element.

In the meantime, if you could use some support around this issue, check out the Get Unstuck Repatterning distance healing proxy group session that I’ll be facilitating this Wednesday, January 18th.

I know it’s just what I need right now.

  1. Elizabeth,
It was great to receive this post the other day. It came at a perfect time and helped me to see that I was not alone in feeling this way – that in itself was freeing! Best wishes, Christiane Schull

  2. Hi Christiane,
Glad you found this info useful. It really does help to know that you’re not alone! That’s why I love working in groups, because we really are never alone, we’re all connected. When you join together with people who share your issues it makes it easier for everyone to release old patterns and bring in new, more uplifting patterns.
    Here’s to getting unstuck together!
    Blessings,
    Elizabeth
